Learning a little each day...

Feeling OVERWHELMED ??

It seems like there is just so much to learn!  Hopefully you've made a good start here today.

The nature of the Web is that it keeps changing and it keeps changing at a very fast pace. I suggest a learning strategy that lets you learn a little more each day. You can even have the Internet help you:

Growth stats....

There are several free 'daily tip' mailing lists, that each business day will send you a tip on a particular topic. Web browsers, various software packages, what's new on the Web, etc.

This way you learn a little at a time, keep up with new things, and even if you already know about the tip, it serves as a good review. I know I often learn something several times (forgetting in between) before it sticks.

Join or start an informal Web group at work. It doesn't need to be large. Just a few friends who are willing to ask questions about what they don't know and share what they have learned.

"I just learned this surfing trick that will save me a lot of time. Did you know.......?"
"Whenever I want to ...., it is always a pain. Do you know a better way?"
"I found this nifty site....!"

Push for on-going corporate education and in-house seminars.

I can't get enough!!  Give me more...

The Web/Internet keeps expanding.  No reason to stop your learning about it.

In general

  • Review the Novice tips and the 'more....' section.  from the other session.
  • Ask your kids, grandkids, or neighbors how they surf
  • Compare tools at BrowserWatch
