HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is the basis of Web pages. Web pages are ASCII text that has been marked up with HTML tags. Your browser interprets those tags, factors in your preferences, and displays the page on your computer. | ||||||||

To see the HTML responsible for page you are viewing, use your browser's
View pulldown.

Grabbing a page |
You can create your own start-up page. To get a jump start, copy any
page you've seen in your browser. This page contains
several commonly used HTML tags.
Then, use any editor to make some changes. I'm going to use MS Write. It is easy enough to change the titles as well as replicate a few lines. Since you don't have easy access to a Web server, you can take advantage of the fact your browser can access your local hard disk just as easily as the Internet. Use the file:// designation. (or just omit it -- c: gets you there. ) To make this page your start-up page:
